Shamanic Worker & Herbalist
My name is Dave Achula, and for over a decade, I’ve dedicated my life to exploring the profound relationship between plants, people, and the healing wisdom of nature.
My journey has taken me from learning with teachers in the Amazon jungle to encountering the traditions and wisdom of tribes in South Africa. Along the way, I’ve immersed myself in both Eastern and Western herbalism, weaving their knowledge, philosophies, and practices into an approach that honours the intelligence of nature and the uniqueness of every individual.
But this path has become more than a practice. It has become a calling.

At Achula, I offer individual psilocybin ceremonies that bring together personal attention, ritual, and a deep respect for the natural world.
I don't see this experience as a quick fix or a promise that everything will change. It is an intensive and unpredictable experience that may create opportunities for reflection, new perspectives, and questions worth exploring.
We don't begin with what you should achieve. We begin with where you are.
What brings you here? What has been on your mind? What would you like to understand more deeply?
Together, we explore whether this approach is appropriate for you, your circumstances, and your intentions.

There are journeyers I will remember for the rest of my life. One came to ceremony carrying unbearable grief: her brother passed away right in front of her. From the outside she appeared strong, but inside she was fragile and shattered. Over several ceremonies I watched him grow his posture straightening, his voice becoming steady. By the end, she radiated a sense of empowerment she thought she had lost.
(Research such as “The Body Keeps the Score” shows that embodied, safe experiences can help reshape the nervous system. Ceremony offers just such a container.)

Another person came to this work after years of putting everyone else first. They had become so used to being strong, being needed, and keeping everything running that they no longer knew what they needed themselves. Beneath the constant doing was a quiet exhaustion and a longing to feel alive again.
What they needed wasn’t another person telling them what to do. They needed space to stop, to feel, and to listen to the parts of themselves they had ignored for so long. Sometimes, the journey inward begins with tears. Sometimes with silence. And sometimes with a simple realisation: I’ve spent so long trying to be everything for everyone that I’ve forgotten who I am.

Why an Individual Ceremony?
Your experiences, questions, and circumstances are unique.
An individual approach allows the preparation and integration process to focus on your personal situation rather than a group's shared experience.
Space to be yourself
You can explore your questions and concerns without comparing your experience to anyone else's.
An intention that reflects your life
We take time to understand what brings you here, without deciding in advance what your experience should reveal.
Personal attention
Your preparation and integration conversations can be shaped around your needs, within the scope of the support offered.
Freedom to find your own meaning
You don't need to follow a particular spiritual tradition or accept someone else's interpretation of your experience.
